In the summer of 2012, Michael and Melissa Morgan were getting gas from a local convenience station.  She noticed a young man as he entered the store. He had a backpack, and a 3 year old girl with him.  Then she noticed, he had stolen some food and ran back to the run down motel.  She began to weep and saw that God had spoken to her heart to help.  So, she and Mike soon began going to six of the older motels to help feed and clothed the children, elderly, veterans and disabled. In 2014 God opened a door to rent an old Aunt Sarah’s family restaurant.  The once strip club/bar became the new Place of Miracles Cafe. They served their first Thanksgiving meal without power or water.  Friends got together and cooked Thanksgiving meals for the nearby motel residents using mostly crock pots.   Mike hooked up kerosene heaters to keep everything and everyone warm. Eventually they had to leave that location after 7 years and renovate a new building  A Place of Miracles is now in a larger building the new café and food distribution center is just off RT! near Willis Road. In addition, a new clothes cottage will be opening on Willis Road.Free clothes for families in need, veterans and disabled.  Other programs are part of the vision that they seek to build this charitable organization into.
